Mr. Artas Balakauskas

Born into a family of musicians, a Lithuanian pianist Artas Balakauskas, started his musical education at M.K. Čiurlionis School of Arts (M.K.Čiurlionis Art Gymnasium) in Vilnius, Lithuania, where he studied with Edmundas Gedgaudas and Liucija Drąsutiene. Later he obtained degrees in Piano Performance, Pedagogy and Chamber Music from the prestigious P.Tchaikovsky Moscow Conservatory of Music, under the guidance of Samvel Alumian and Vladimir Krainev. Artas was later awarded a scholarship from V. Landsbergis Foundation to pursue his studies at École Normale de Musique de Paris, where he was awarded the highest diplomas in Piano Performance and Chamber Music.

Lauréat of several National and International piano competitions (namely at St.Nom la Bretèche, France), Artas Balakauskas is very active both as a performer and teacher. He has embarked on concert tours in France, Spain, Lithuania, Ukraine, New Zealand and Germany. He made his debut in Thailand in 1995 and has appeared as soloist with The Bangkok Symphony Orchestra in 2000, has collaborated in Chamber music with violinists Roman Nodel, Charles Castelman, cellist Edith Salzmann.

Artas is also a regular participant in music festivals around the world, i.e. St.Christopher Summer Festival in Vilnius, Akaroa Music Festival in New Zealand, Music at M.K. Čiurlionis Native House in Druskininkai, and Sugrįžimai Music Festival in Vilnius, Lithuania.

Alongside with his wife, a highly acclaimed pianist Indhuon Srikaranonda, Artas Balakauskas formed a piano duo team. During almost 20 years of creative collaboration the Duo performed the wide range of repertoire for two pianos and piano four hands. The appearances of Duo also included the World Premiere performances of new compositions, namely “The Seasons” for two pianos by Osvaldas Balakauskas

Among Artas’ latest ambitious projects was a performance of 32 Piano Sonatas by L.van Beethoven during the seasons of 2015 – 2017, presented by Bösendorfer Thailand.

In addition, Artas is often invited to serve as a Jury member in both National and International Youth Piano Competitions and Festivals.

Presently Artas Balakauskas resides in Bangkok, where he is a Chief Instructor for Piano Performance at Yamaha Music Academy.

อาจารย์อาร์ตัส บาลาเคาสคัส

อาจารย์อาร์ตัส บาลาเคาสคัส เกิดในครอบครัวนักดนตรีในประเทศลิทัวเนีย และเริ่มต้นเรียนดนตรีที่สถาบัน M.K. Čiurlionis School of Arts (M.K.Čiurlionis Art Gymnasium) ในกรุงวิลเนียส ประเทศลิทัวเนีย โดยศึกษากับอาจารย์ Edmundas Gedgaudas และ Liucija Drąsutiene ภายหลังได้จบการศึกษาด้าน Piano Performance, Pedagogy and Chamber Music จากวิทยาลัยดนตรีชื่อดัง P.Tchaikovsky Moscow Conservatory of Music โดยศึกษากับอาจารย์ Samvel Alumian และ Vladimir Krainev และในเวลาต่อมาได้รับทุนการศึกษาจากมูลนิธิ V.Landsbergis Foundation ให้ศึกษาต่อที่สถาบัน École Normale de Musique de Paris จนกระทั่งได้รับปริญญาสูงสุดในสาขา Piano Performance and Chamber Music

อาจารย์อาร์ตัสเคยได้รับรางวัลประกาศเกียรติคุณจากการแข่งขันระดับชาติและนานาชาติ (รวมทั้งจาก St.Nom la Bretèche ประเทศฝรั่งเศส) โดยในปัจจุบัน นอกจากการสอนเปียโนแล้ว อาจารย์ยังมีผลงานแสดงเปียโนอย่างต่อเนื่อง และเคยได้แสดงคอนเสิร์ตในฝรั่งเศส สเปน ลิทัวเนีย ยูเครน นิวซีแลนด์ และเยอรมนี อาจารย์มีผลงานการแสดงครั้งแรกในประเทศไทยในปี 1995 นอกจากนี้แล้ว ยังเคยเป็นนักเปียโนโซโลร่วมกับวง Bangkok Symphony Orchestra ในปี 2000 และร่วมแสดงในคอนเสิร์ตเชมเบอร์กับศิลปินไวโอลิน Roman Nodel, Charles Castelman และนักเชลโล Edith Salzmann

อาจารย์อาร์ตัสได้เข้าร่วมในเทศกาลดนตรีในหลายประเทศทั่วโลก อาทิ เทศกาล St.Christopher Summer Festival ที่กรุงวิลเนียส เทศกาล Akaroa Music Festival ในนิวซีแลนด์ เทศกาล Music at M.K. Čiurlionis Native House ที่จัดขึ้นที่เมือง Druskininkai ประเทศโปแลนด์ และ เทศกาล Sugrįžimai Music Festival ในวิลเนียส ประเทศลิทัวเนีย

อาจารย์อาร์ตัสมีผลงานเปียโนร่วมกับภรรยา ดร.อินทุอร ศรีกรานนท์ ผู้เป็นนักเปียโนผู้มีชื่อเสียง โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งในการบรรเลงผลงาน two pianos และ piano four hands จำนวนมาก หนึ่งในนั้นคือการแสดง world premiere ครั้งแรกของโลกในการเปิดตัวผลงาน The Seasons สำหรับเปียโนสองหลัง ผลงานประพันธ์ของ Osvaldas Balakauskas

หนึ่งผลงานล่าสุดของอาจารย์อาร์ตัส คือการบรรเลง Piano Sonatas ทั้ง 32 บทของคีตกวี L.van Beethoven ระหว่างปี 2015-2017 จัดขึ้นโดย Bösendorfer Thailand

นอกจากนี้แล้วอาจารย์ยังได้รับเชิญเป็นกรรมการตัดสินงานแข่งดนตรีและเทศกาลดนตรีสำหรับเยาวชนทั้งในและต่างประเทศเป็นประจำ

ในปัจจุบันอาจารย์อาร์ตัสพักอาศัยอยู่ในกรุงเทพ และดำรงตำแหน่ง Chief Instructor สำหรับสาขา Piano Performance ให้กับสถาบัน Yamaha Music Academy
