Mr. Gun Chaikittiwatana

Gun Chaikittiwatana is a Thai pianist who is musically engaged on several national and international stages. To this day, he has performed in Austria, Germany, Italy, Japan, Singapore, Spain, Thailand, and the USA. He is also a prize-winner of various international piano competitions, including Grand Prix from the 2016 Kawai International Piano Competition, 1st prize and Soloist Award from the 14th International Chopin Piano Competition in ASIA (General Category), 1st prize from the 14th Osaka Music Competition (Recital-Course Category), 1st prize from the 3rd Thailand International Piano Competition, and 2nd prize from the 1st Wittgenstein Memorial International Piano Competition for Left-Hand.

At the age of 12, Gun gave his first recital abroad in Bonn, Germany as the winner of Beethoven Piano Competition in Thailand. In the same year, he made his first debut with an orchestra, performing Beethoven’s Choral Fantasy with Silpakorn Summer Music School Orchestra and Choir. In 2012, he was invited to perform Mozart’s Concerto for 3 Pianos in Singapore as part of the ChildAid’s charity concert. Furthermore, he was a guest soloist for 4 times with Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra (TPO), most recently he performed Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2.

Gun also participates regularly in international piano masterclasses and festivals, where he refines his skills from well-known professors such as Gary Graffman, Dmitri Bashkirov, Arie Vardi, Dina Yoffe, Grigory Gruzman, Pavel Gililov, Christopher Hinterhuber, Matti Raekallio, Olivier Gardon, and Rolf-Dieter Arens. In 2016, he was the first Thai to be chosen to participate in the prestigious Hamamatsu International Piano Academy in Japan.

Recently, Gun has graduated from Bachelor in Piano Performance at Mozarteum University Salzburg under the tutelage of Jacques Rouvier. During his time in Bangkok, he took piano lessons with Dr. Eri Nakagawa, who has been a key figure in his development for 8 years. In 2017, he was appointed as Yamaha Artist in Thailand.

กันต์ ไชยกิตติวัฒนา เป็นนักเปียโนชาวไทยผู้มีผลงานทั้งในและต่างประเทศ เขาได้เคยไปแสดงที่ประเทศออสเตรีย เยอรมนี อิตาลี ญี่ปุ่น สิงคโปร์ สเปน และ สหรัฐอเมริกา นอกจากนี้เขายังได้รับรางวัลจากหลายการแข่งขันระดับนานาชาติอาทิเช่น รางวัลกรังปรีซ์จากการแข่งขันเปียโนนานาชาติคาไว รางวัลชนะเลิศจากการแข่งขันเปียโนนานาชาติโชแปงในเอเชีย (รุ่นไม่จำกัดอายุ) รางวัลชนะเลิศจากการแข่งขันดนตรีนานาชาติเมืองโอซาก้า (รุ่นรีไซเทิลคอร์ส) รางวัลชนะเลิศจากการแข่งขันดนตรีนานาชาติแห่งประเทศไทย และรางวัลรองชนะเลิศจากการแข่งขันดนตรีนานาชาติวิตต์เกนสไตน์สำหรับมือซ้าย

เมื่ออายุ 12 ปี กันต์ได้มีโอกาสไปเล่นรีไซเทิลที่เมืองบอนน์ ประเทศเยอรมนี ในฐานะผู้ชนะเลิศจากการแข่งขันเปียโนเบโธเฟ่นแห่งประเทศไทย ในปีเดียวกันเขายังได้ร่วมแสดงบทเพลงคอร่อลแฟนตาซี (Choral Fantasy) ของเบโธเฟ่น กับวงออเคสตร้าและวงนักร้องประสานเสียงค่ายฤดูร้อนของมหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากร ในปีพ.ศ. 2555 เขาได้รับเชิญไปแสดงเปียโนคอนแชร์โต้สำหรับ 3 เปียโนของโมสาร์ทที่ประเทศสิงคโปร์ในงานการกุศลของมูลนิธิ ChildAid นอกเหนือจากนี้เขายังเคยถูกเชิญไปแสดงกับวงดุริยางค์ฟีลฮาร์โมนิกแห่งประเทศไทย (ทีพีโอ) ถึง 4 ครั้งด้วยกัน โดยล่าสุดเขาได้แสดงบทเพลงเปียโนคอนแชร์โต้หมายเลข 2 ของรัคมานินอฟ

กันต์ได้เข้าร่วมเทศกาลดนตรีอยู่บ่อยครั้งและได้มีโอกาสเรียนกับอาจารย์เปียโนที่มีชื่อเสียงหลายท่านได้แก่ แกรี่ กราฟแมน, ดิมิทรี่ บาชคิรอฟ, อารี วาร์ดี้, ดีน่า ยอฟเฟ่, กริกอรี่ กรูซมัน, พาเวล กิลิลอฟ, คริสโตเฟอร์ ฮินเทอฮูเบอร์, มัททิ แรคคาลิโอ, โอลิเวียร์ การ์ดอง, และ รอล์ฟ-ดีเทอร์ อาเรนส์ อีกทั้งในปีพ.ศ. 2559 เขายังได้ถูกเลือกให้เป็นคนไทยคนแรกที่ได้เข้าร่วมเทศกาลดนตรีฮามามัตซุเปียโนอคาเดมี่อันโด่งดัง ณ ประเทศญี่ปุ่น

ในปัจจุบัน กันต์เพิ่งสำเร็จการศึกษาในระดับปริญญาตรีสาขาการแสดงเปียโนที่มหาวิทยาลัยโมสาร์เทอุม เมืองซาลซ์บูร์ก ในคลาสของอาจารย์ชาค รูเวียร์ ในประเทศไทยเขาได้เรียนเปียโนกับดร. เอริ นาคากาว่า เป็นเวลานานถึง 8 ปี ผู้ซึ่งเป็นส่วนสำคัญในการปูพื้นฐานการเล่นเปียโนให้กับเขาเป็นอย่างมาก ในปีพ.ศ. 2560 กันต์ได้รับแต่งตั้งให้เป็นศิลปินของค่ายดนตรียามาฮ่าจนกระทั่ง ณ ปัจจุบัน
