Dr. Nopanand Chanorathaikul

A distinguished classical pianist and a highly sought-after teacher, Dr. Nopanand obtained her Doctor of Musical Arts Degree in Piano Performance from the Thornton School of Music, University of Southern California, U.S.A. under a Fulbright Scholarship. She obtained her Master of Music Degree from the Eastman School of Music, Rochester, New York.

Dr. Nopanand was the First Prize Winner of The National Youth Piano Concerto Competition (1988) and the Triple-Prize Winner of The Bangkok Chopin Piano Competition (1989) - First Prize, Best Mazurka Prize and Best Waltz Prize.

Besides giving solo and chamber music recitals, Dr. Nopanand has been a guest soloist with Chulalongkorn University Symphony Orchestra and Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra.

A dedicated and inspiring teacher, Dr. Nopanand is a highly sought-after teacher whose students have won top prizes in national and international competitions, passed audition into prestigious music institutions in Asia, Europe and America, and received Distinction in their piano examinations. Dr. Nopanand is in high demand for her inspiring and informative teachers’ workshops, which she has conducted for many institutions both in Thailand and abroad.

Dr. Nopanand has been invited to serve on the adjudicator panel of many international piano competitions both in Thailand and abroad.

Dr. Nopanand’s teachers include Suda Gloria Chanorathaikul, Tongsuang Israngkul, Barry Snyder and Daniel Pollack. She also obtained the FTCL which is the highest Performer’s Diploma of Trinity College London.

Dr. Nopanand was appointed an Assistant Professor in Music of the College of Music, Mahidol University where she served as a full time piano faculty member for more than a decade and has contributed significantly in making it to be one of the strongest piano departments in Thailand.

Currently, Dr. Nopanand teaches in her own private studio which focuses n training young talented pianists

นักเปียโนคลาสสิกฝีมือเยี่ยมและอาจารย์ที่ลูกศิษย์เคารพรัก ดร.นภนันท์สำเร็จการศึกษาระดับปริญญาเอกสาขา วิชาการแสดงเปียโนจาก Thornton School of Music, University of Southern California ประเทศสหรัฐอเมริกา ดร.นภนันท์ เป็นคนไทยคนแรกและคนเดียวจนถึงปัจจุบันที่ได้รับทุนฟุลไบรท์ไปศึกษาต่อในระดับปริญญาเอกสาขาวิชาการแสดงเปียโน ที่ประเทศสหรัฐอเมริกา ดร.นภนันท์สำเร็จการศึกษาในระดับปริญญาโทสาขา Piano Performance and Literature จาก Eastman School of Music, Rochester, New York ประเทศสหรัฐอเมริกา

ดร.นภนันท์ได้รับรางวัลชนะเลิศจากการแข่งขันเปียโนระดับชาติหลาย รางวัล ทั้งรางวัลชนะเลิศจากการแข่งขันเปียโนคอนแชร์โตเยาวชนแห่งชาติในปี 2531 และรางวัลชนะเลิศจากการแข่งขันเปียโนของสมาคมโชแปงกรุงเทพฯ ครั้งที่ 2 ในปี 2532 รวมทั้งรางวัลการบรรเลงเพลง Waltz ยอดเยี่ยมและรางวัลการ บรรเลงเพลง Mazurka ยอดเยี่ยม

นอกจากการแสดงเดี่ยวและการแสดงแบบแชมเบอร์แล้ว ดร.นภนันท์ยังเคยได้รับเชิญให้แสดงร่วมกับวง ดุริยางค์ซิมโฟนีแห่งจุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย (CU Symphony Orchestra) และวงดุริยางค์ซิมโฟนีกรุงเทพ (Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra) ด้วย

ดร.นภนันท์เป็นอาจารย์ที่ลูกศิษย์เคารพรัก เป็นอาจารย์ที่ทุ่มเทให้กับงานสอนอย่างจริงจัง ลูกศิษย์ของดร.นภนันท์ เคยได้รับรางวัลในการแข่งขันเปียโนระดับชาติและระดับนานาชาติ ผ่านการสอบคัดเลือกเข้าศึกษาต่อในคณะดนตรีของมหาวิทยาลัยชั้นนำของเอเชีย ยุโรปและอเมริกาและผ่านการสอบเปียโนในระดับต่างๆด้วยเกียรตินิยมอันดับหนึ่ง นอกจากนั้น ดร.นภนันท์ยังได้รับเชิญให้เป็นวิทยากรในการอบรมครูเปียโนของสถาบันดนตรีชั้นนำทั้งในประเทศและต่างประเทศอยู่เสมอ

ดร.นภนันท์เรียนเปียโนอาจารย์สุดา กลอเรีย จันทร์อรทัยกุล, ศาสตราจารย์ ธงสรวง อิศรางกูร Professor Barry Snyder และ Professor Daniel Pollack ตามลำดับ นอกจากนี้ ดร.นภนันท์ยังเป็นหนึ่งในนักเปียโนคนไทยจำนวนไม่กี่คน ที่สอบได้ FTCL ซึ่งเป็นวุฒิบัตรด้านการแสดงเปียโนระดับสูงสุดของ Trinity College London

ดร. นภนันท์ได้รับแต่งตั้งให้ดำรงตำแหน่งเป็นผู้ช่วยศาสตราจารย์ในสาขาวิชาดนตรีของวิทยาลัยดุริยางคศิลป์ มหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล ซึ่งเป็นสถาบันที่ดร.นภนันท์ได้ทำหน้าที่เป็นอาจารย์สอนเปียโนอยู่เป็นเวลา 13 ปี และได้มีส่วนใน การพัฒนาแผนกเปียโนของวิทยาลัยให้เป็นแผนกที่ดีที่สุดแห่งหนึ่งของประเทศไทย

ปัจจุบัน ดร.นภนันท์ เป็นอาจารย์สอนเปียโนอิสระ โดยมุ่งสอนเด็กที่มีพรสวรรค์ด้านดนตรีและนักเรียนที่ตั้งใจจะ เรียนดนตรีเป็นวิชาชีพต่อไปในอนาคต
